Wow.. so.. I keep this journal, so I can cronicle the things in my life that. well.. I want.

I went to Rustycon last weekend.. it was fun. BUSY. I showed up friday round noon, dealt with the hotel, got a guest room just down from the party room...(the hotel staff was EXTREMELY helpful!!!) and away we went.. first to the dealers room to set up... then I had a panel to be on, so I left A and S to work on the dealers room, then D and I had an hour roughly to run back to the party room and work on that.. another panel, party room, another panel, party room and party. (or did I only have 2 panels to be on on friday?)

A got to gaming.. she's VERY good. I had 5 panels on Saturday... between those and running from gaming demo room to the dealers room.. I had a BUSY day. The night ended with a very .... eye opening, breath relaxing, "there, I've said it" panel for me. "Literature and Alternative Relationships" it was a good panel for me to be on.

Saturday, DeathStar played a party next to us. I love those guys. The Dragondyne party went well too. I stayed after the party was over so I could get the room packed up.

Sunday, I had to skip out on a panel so I could pack up the room and get it to the car, but I made the last panel, which.. well.. I was the only one that DIDN'T have kids on the panel, so I like to think I offered a fresh perspective.

Monday, I started a new class. 14 people. was nice to be emmersed in the training again. Tuesday, BIG DRAMA at work, but I mostly stayed as much out of the way as I could. Wedensday fallout from work... thursday started to be cool again.. nothing wrong with mah class. Friday was fun at work again.. and I went to Training Room North... drank for three hours, got a hangover at the 3 hour mark.... went to coffee, and came home.

Today, I recieved a call from my boss, and have to go into work for something tomorrow. I is really excited!

Other than that.. I've been dealing with internet peoples wanting to cause drama, and sleeping.

</status>

decade in review.. (brief)

Wow.. well... 10 years ago... I was 26... I'd been married 2 years, I was working at Reflex Communications ... I'd had my brain radiated a couple years before... I can't remember much from that time, however. as I just started my LJ in 2001...

Decided to go through a couple different sources... one being my resume..

WDSGlobal – Tier 3 Technical Support – Kirkland, WA June 2006 – Present
Manpower/WDSGlobal – Tier 3 Technical Support – Kirkland, WA March 2006 – June 2006 (contract)
Ranstad/ERSolutions – Inbound Collection -- Renton, WA March 2005-January 2006
Rare Rose – Retail Clerk-- Seattle, WA November 1993-January 2006 (on call/seasonal)
VMC – Telesales Agent-- Redmond, WA October 2004-December 2004 (contract)
Ammex – Temporary Contractor-- Seattle, WA May 2003 – October 2003 (contract)
Dragondyne – Publisher/Co-Owner-- Seattle, WA February 2001 – Present
CSG Openline – Phone Agent-- Seattle, WA May 2002 – October 2002
ReFlex Communications, Inc – Billing Clerk-- Seattle, WA April 1999 – March 2001

I loved ReFlex Communications... it was my first REAL chance to try out AP/AR... Then they went bankrupt.
CSG Openline... a telemarketing place... it was okay.
My husband and I started Dragondyne Publishing around that time.
Ammex.. Sarahmonster got me a job here... I felt really proud of the work I did every night.. .then I lost out the interview (I hope the girl who got it is still in it and doing well!!!) and messed up my back worse then what it was.. My fault, totally. I called them up to tell them this, and I got told "well, you can't apply for L&I. Told them I didn't WANT to ANYWAY, because it was MY stupidity.
VMC... One of the more interesting jobs I've had... was doing pre pre sales. was a good job.
Rare Rose.. now this... I've been working since 1993, when I met my now husband.
ERSolutions... Inbound Collections for Qwest.. this is when I got my baby Magellean from a coworker.
WDS Global... it is by FAR my favorite job. Most days I wake up eager to go to work, I love being there, and found the extent of my love for Tech Support and cell phones!

I relate a LOT to work. But that doesn't mean I live my life by what I do.

I started going to SeaGoth events, and met people, some of whom I still know, some I'm still friends with, and others who could fall off the face of the earth tomorrow and I wouldn't care.

Errhead and I reconnected this decade.
I lost a lot of wonderful (and not so wonderful) people.
Struggled with my marriage, and basked in it's gloriousness
Met the Oly people. Ran into Facebook, reconnected with a LOT of people.
Met wonderful people at works... some I still am friends with.
Met my Browncoats.. some of the dearest friends I have.
Had to change my hair from the blue that it was to natural... it's been a while since I haven't done ANYTHING to it.... but it's au natural now... with the light and dark browns... and the silver.

Lost a tooth.
Gained a roommate I absolutely ADORE.

I think that no matter where I am in life right now... I've come a long way, baby (smoking)

Thank you to ALL my friends for making the past decade great! I may not be able to remember it all, but what I do remember (and what my LJ tells me) is that it's been great. And That makes it worth it.

You know how sometimes people on your friends list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when were they working THERE? Since when were they dating HIM/HER? Since when?" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Please copy the topics below, erase my answers and put yours in their place, and then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration. One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out.

NAME: Gibbitt Rhys-Jones

AGE: 35

LOCATION: Tukwila, Washington State, USA

OCCUPATION: Technical Trainer

PARTNER: Dustin and Head

KIDS: none

BROTHERS/SISTERS: 1 younger brother, 4 older half sisters, one of which lives in state and own an art gallery, one of whom is dead, one lives in Fl, and the other, MD

PARENTS: 3. Admission is $5, $5 with a can of food for Northwest Harvest, Children 5 and under are free, blah blah spammity-blah...

If you have to choose just one geeky thing to do today (And there are a few Geeky things to do in the Greater Seattle Area today), I strongly suggest THIS EVENT over any of the others. Why?

CHEAP! $5 to get in! Dealers motivated to unload some product so they don't have to lug it back home in the rain!

INTIMATE!
11:05amGibbitt
So, "It's keeping me warm" he complained to the computer, hoping the girl on the other end would have some feelings. If she has compassion.. turn to page 7, if she has NO compassion.. turn to page 34

11:06amSeth M
i think im going to have to suffer and be cold, flip's to page 34

11:07amGibbitt
"suffer and deal" she said, "now hand it over, and DON'T make me come over there and take it... because that's excerise."

if you hand it over... turn to page 10 if you don't hand it over.. turn to page 54

11:07amSeth M
54

11:09amGibbitt
She doesn't respond. You get all huddled down thinking you won and your safe. You begin to play HoN, and forget all about it. 30 minutes later, there is a loud knock at the door. If you answer knock turn to page 45, if you ignore it and hope whoever it is will go away, turn to page 17

11:10amSeth M
bah i cant get ganked while im out here farming creep, page 17

11:12amGibbitt
The knocking gets louder and more persistant. Finally, after making sure you are in a safe place, you go to the door, blanket around you, but you got there too late, the door falls in, hitting you on the head. the last thing you see is a female standing in the doorway and a blustery cold wind hitting you as your blanket is taken away...... (the end)

...

11:54amSeth M
what would of happened if i went to page 7

??

11:54amGibbitt
you'll never know, now will you.

11:54amSeth M
well i always save my place in the books so i can flip back and go to the other option

11:54amGibbitt
LOL!!!!

11:55amSeth M
so now im going to page 7

11:55amGibbitt
LOL!!!

11:56amGibbitt
"Well" she answered with compassion, "we could always SHARE your blanket" if the answer is yes, go to page 6, if it is no, go to page 18

11:57amSeth M
sharing is caring i'll go to page 6

12:00pmGibbitt
you suddenly hear a knock at the door, you waddle over to answer it, and it's the girl, who immediately crawls into the blanket with you. She asks if you want a back rub. if yes, go to page 14, if no, go to page 52

12:01pmSeth M
i could use a good back rub it's been awhile page 14

12:05pmGibbitt
She moves around to behind you and starts in on your shoulders, taking the blanket with her (it's covering you some still), you feel knots that you didn't know you had. she has you lay down and rubs your back untill you fall asleep. You are warm, relaxed, and happy. You wake up several hours later to her sleeping next to you. Do you give her a backrub back? turn to page 9, or do you kiss her goodmorning? turn to page 17

12:06pmSeth M
no better way to say ty then with a good morning kiss, pg 17

12:09pmGibbitt
You lean down to kiss her, and she kisses back.
well, my dad called.

He's planning on coming up next summer. Wants to see my brother and I. He's 75, and didn't plan to live this long. He's got lung, stomach, AND his pancreatic cancer is back. He's going to do chemo unless it makes him ill, then he's going to stop and go the alternative route.

It was very nice to talk to him. To tell him that him NOT telling me about my oldest sister dying really hurt, and that if anything ANYTHING happens to him between now and forever that he's to tell me... IMMEDIATELY.

Also, he gave me some names for my family search... For a family of Welsh people... we sure come from ALL OVER the British Isles.

This morning was great. They didn't tell me half the route was UPHILL!!!! (ugnh!) But I did it.. I walked all 5K this morning.. and my legs are already starting to pay for it!

Hung out with Rich today! Haven't seen him all summer. I skunked him in the second game of Cribbage! WOO!

I must go make Tatertot casserol now. I promised Sheri that if she made meatloaf last night.. I would make Tatertot casserol tonight.

Lesson of the day.

Don't answer the phone when there's a Rhys-Jones that you haven't talked to in a while on the other end.

Got a call from my sister... My dad, who's been through prostate, colon, and pancreatic cancer... now has lung and stomach cancer.

He's gonna do chemo unless it makes him sick... then he's just gonna die.

My sister said "he really wants to see you, but if you can't afford it... he'll understand."

she's going down around T-day... I could go then, but tix are 400 - 600. if I go NOW, prices are 350ish.

it hurts, but WHERE the FUCK am I supposed to get the money to a) fly down there, b)stay there for however long, and c) do I want to? The answer to c is obvious.... yes. I do. The answer to b is .. I save as much as I can... the answer to a is not so good. Off to figure that out. spose I should also call my da and ask him when he wants me to come down.

Aside from that.. I'm entering week 9 of a 9 week training spree... so it's almost over.. then I have 3 weeks (at least) then I have a class.

Fun fun.

Thinking of inviting my kids out to Training Room North this friday, (their Graduation friday).

D had a phone call, we are hoping for an interview. please, everyone, send your thoughts to the universe!

and.. I get up in an hour to walk the breast walk in Bellevue. woot!

So, I was looking at today pics of an old friend of mine (whom I haven't seen in a while), and I thought, Wow.. they look older... then I thought.. I am older too.. I look older, even though people still mistake me for 25-28... I am older (and fatter.. .smooths out the wrinkles you know)... I'm 35... I'm not 15 anymore.. I have silver hairs sigh... it all keeps going around and around up here (points to head) but doesn't come out well.

hi! So, I had a bad day yesterday. My back hurt more than humanly possible, I was feeling like a failure, and my class was driving me crazy. Today.. was better. Today, I got a chocolate shake made with frapp mix, and took tylenol.... I was bouncing around, and happy... turns out... there was coffee in it. Sigh. oh well. my kids said they enjoyed it so much, they were gonna pool together money to make sure I had one every day. LOL.

We lost a kid to our class yesterday. that was a bummer.

I start my third class in a row on monday. sigh. at least it's the last like this in a while.

So, today I was at the DMV, and saw the woman who gave us Magellean as a kitten. I wanted to go say hi... wanted to let her know.... but I couldn't bring myself to doing it. I used to work with her, and I couldn't even bring myself to go say hi, just for the sake of saying hi. (well.. it WAS 4 years ago).. I feel a bit like a coward, and like it still hurts WAY too much!

I am REALLY not feeling well. It's time for bed.

PS: HI TWOF!!!! LOOK!!!
We didn't know each other, not IRL, but the stories you shared with everyone about your life were inspiring. How you saved this bird, how that one brings his children to visit.. how mixing this scent with this mineral does this... I was fortunate enough to see more than one side of you, online. I am forever grateful for it.

I suck at goodbyes. So I'll leave it at that.

Gibbitt
